Location

Rotes Rathaus

Rathausstraße 15 10178 Berlin Germany

Description

With the increasing number of refugees in and around Berlin, there is a pressing need to address the challenges of refugees and NGOs working with refugees in new and innovative ways. The Peace Innovation Lab Berlin will be addressing one of these challenges in a new project.

Currently there seems to be a mismatch between aspiring volunteers and organizations. Other innovative projects are already working on matching tools, see: Kommen und Bleiben. The seonc d bottle neck is the management of so many new volunteers. We will focus on this question. How can we support organizations in volunteer management? Tools, training, information, matching?

We will address this question in a small workshop on the 18th of June in the Town Hall. We invite the members of the Peace Innovation Lab Berlin who would like to commit to a longer project around “Innovation for Refugees”. The goal is to create a project plan and a team to develop the outcomes of the evening further.

We are also inviting experts from the field of Innovation, Refugees-aid, policy and project-management to share their skills and experiences. We are looking for people with experience in fundraising, communication, community building, developers, and project management to share their experience and input.

Even if we are sold out on Eventbrite, do email me anna.alberts [at] gmail.com, if you want to get involved and we will keep you in the loop. The next follow-up meeting is already planned (probably 9-7-2015, keep your agenda's free).
